Celebrate the Holidays with Some Good Will and Cheer
When you are celebrating the holidays in Wichita, you should look for events that will keep the family in good spirits. There are a few events listed below that will make your holiday feel magical. Each one is a new adventure that you should try with your family, and you could bring extended family members who are visiting from out of town. You may want to go out with your spouse to see each attraction, or you can plan a trip for your kids.
The Botanica Illuminations
If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Wichita, you can head down to the Botanica Illuminations. The Illuminations cover the gardens and trees that make Botanica spectacular throughout the year. You can tour the event for 30 days throughout the holiday season, and you can donate to the event to support Botanica, to give passes to the Boys and Girls Club, or to invite causes like Rainbows.
The Arc’s Lights
Events like the Arc’s Lights are a drive-thru that you need to see to believe. There is a suggested donation of $10 per car, and you will drive through a tunnel that dazzles you with lights that were strung with care. This event is a bit like driving past a spectacular parade, and you can slow down to take pictures. This is a good family drive, or you can drive through this display when leaving Wichita hotels to visit your family.
Let It Snow At The Dome
When you head out to Let It Snow at the Dome, you will hear all your favorite Christmas songs, a sing-along for the kids, and holiday cheer for everyone. You pay $3 per child, $5 for adults, and $4 for seniors. This is a good event to try when you have the whole family together. You will leave the event singing your favorite Christmas tunes, and you could drive through the Arc’s Lights on your way home.
Kansas In Miniature Holiday Show
You can take your kids to Exploration Place when you want to see this miniature display of a Kansas town from the 1950s. Admission is free for all members at Exploration Place, and you can give your kids an idea of what it was like to live in Kansas long ago. When kids know the history of their state, they can better appreciate how it is progressing. Plus, the vintage Christmas decorations are authentic in every way.
North Pole Substation
You can visit Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves when you come to this decorated station in Wichita. This is a great place to take the kids when you want them to walk through a place that feels like the North Pole. The Substation looks even better if it has been snowing out. The Substation even gives you a chance to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Memories that Last a Lifetime
The best part of coming to Wichita is that you have many events and light displays to visit. You can bring your extended family to these events, or you could walk through them with your spouse. Something like the Illuminations at Botanica or the Arc’s Lights will be a romantic trip for your spouse, and you can go to the sing-along to keep your kids in good spirits on a long trip.
