Faced an early scare but rallied from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory against Austria’s LASK Linz in their opening match of the Europa League Group E on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

This marked the Liverpool\u2019s return to the european league, with their last\u00a0 campaign\u00a0 occurring in the 2015-16 season, where they ended as runners up with a 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the final.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this match, Liverpool appeared unsettled during the first half against the determined hosts, who were participating in the Europa Leaguegroup stage for the third time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lask Linz, currently in the third position in the 2022-2023 Austrian Bundesliga, took an unexpected lead in the 14th minute through a spectacular goal by winger Florian Flecker.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
