Google is really picky when it comes to\nbuilding links to your site. Actually, Google doesn\u2019t want you building links\nto your site.<\/p>\n\n\n

Why? Well, because when you build links to your site, you are manipulating the algorithm<\/strong><\/a> and when you manipulate the results of their algorithm, then they have to tweak it to ignore any advantages that come from that type of manipulation so as to keep search query results natural and relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n

This is very important. Really, it is. We all\nuse search engines to find information on subjects that are very important in\nour lives, information that greatly affects the decisions that we make with\nregard to ourselves and our families. For this reason, the information we find\nreally needs to be relevant and not spammy in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n

Therefore, if we, as a civilization are going\nto keep our information highway free of debris and drivable we seriously need\nto think about exercising \u201clink responsibility\u201d and make sure that our SEO\nhouse is in order before it is \u201ccondemned\u201d by algorithm engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n

Doing so is really pretty easy and much more\neffective than webmasters generally realize.<\/p>\n\n\n

First of all, lets take a second to talk about\nseveral link building methods that are currently heavily used that I believe\nare soon to lose their relevance and ability to give you a good SERP ranking<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Profile Links. These have been wildly popular\nfor some time now and there are countless websites that cater to webmasters in\nthe form of building them an \u201cabout\u201d page pointing to\ntheir website.<\/p>\n\n\n

Many webmasters have claimed to get pretty\ndecent results from this methodology, but I ask myself: \u201cDoes this add value to\nthe web?\u201d If my opinion is no, then I stay away from it as a link building\ntechnique. Why? Simply because of the fact that easy to get links that do not\nadd value to the web will ultimately be abused as a source leading to their\nmanual algorithmic devaluing and an ultimate drop in the SERPs. While profile\nlinking may work now, it\u2019s time is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n

Automated Blog Comments. These are to be\navoided for so many obvious reasons. You wouldn\u2019t think that this would have to\nbe said, but it still does.<\/p>\n\n\n

First of all it leaves an annoyingly obvious\nfootprint for both search engines and spam services to see. In many cases the IP\naddress of the offending link planter gets banned, never to return.\nAdditionally, your IP quickly receives the reputation of a valueless spammer\nwho provides no real reason to visit your site.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are other link building techniques to be\navoided, actually too many to mention here which we will not elaborate on\nbecause the title of this article is actually: \u201cHow To Build Links That Google\nActually Likes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n

There is one way that I have consistently\nfound to be quit relevant in terms of building mysteriously valuable links in\nterms of SEO and that is through \u201cvalue included article marketing\u201d, meaning\nthe syndication of non-self-serving, helpful, informative, enlightening,\nresourceful articles to article directories with a link pointing back to the\noriginal on my site using the keyword rich URL as the anchor text.<\/p>\n\n\n

This is a technique actually encouraged by\nGoogle itself when syndication is part of an SEO plan.<\/p>\n\n\n

Personally, I have found that it works quite\nwell IF you are planning for the long haul. When search engines observe you\nproviding consistent long term value that is easily measured across a large\nvariety of websites, the bottom line will be that they will like you and\npromote you as a resource yourself.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
