Ready Player Me Raises $56M to Build Cross-Game Avatar Platform
Ready Player Me, a platform that allows users to create a single avatar that can be used across multiple virtual worlds, has raised $56 million in Series B funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The round also included participation from investors such as David Baszucki, co-founder of Roblox; Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch; Sebastian Knutsson and Riccardo Zacconi, co-founders of King Games; and sports and entertainment company Endeavor.
The funding will be used to expand Ready Player Me's team and platform, and to accelerate its growth in the metaverse. The company plans to use the funds to hire more engineers, designers, and marketers, and to invest in new features and integrations.
