The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks are the top contenders as the NBA season Preview approaches, with sportsbooks nationwide naming them co-favorites for the championship. Caesars Sportsbook slightly favors the Celtics at +380, with the Bucks closely behind at +400. The defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, come in next at +420, with the Phoenix Suns (+600) and Golden State Warriors (+850) also in the mix.
Both the Celtics and Bucks, bolstered by significant backcourt changes, are favorites to win the NBA Cup, an inaugural in-season tournament. Boston added seasoned guard Jrue Holiday, while Milwaukee’s big move paired Damian Lillard with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
During the offseason, the Denver Nuggets drew significant attention, including a $30,000 bet at 4-1 odds, potentially netting $120,000.
In addition, the Los Angeles Lakers, with around 11-1 odds, have attracted strong support from bettors, while the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, and Portland Trail Blazers are long-shot underdogs, each at 500-1 odds at Caesars Sportsbook.
The season starts with the Nuggets hosting the Lakers and the Warriors hosting the Suns.
