  • Detection Antibody (The Tag): The second antibody, which contains an enzyme, is added to the sample. This antibody will bind to LBP to form a “sandwich.”
  • Substrate Reaction (The Color Change): A substrate is added to the mixture, which will change color when the enzyme comes into contact with it.
  • Quantification (The Measurement): A machine called a spectrophotometer will measure the color change to determine exactly how much of the active protein is contained in the sample.
